Google Adsense

Google Adsense logoThe Google Adsense programme is the largest contextual advertising network in the world. Google Adsense ads automatically match the content of your site, and you earn money whenever one of your site visitors clicks on an Adsense Ad. The Google Adsense Robot crawls the content of your site to deliver the contextual ads, "Adsense for content" - you can choose whether text or graphic ads are displayed, or a combination of the two. The idea is that the ads are so relevant that they provide a useful addition to your site.

You can also promote "AdSense for Search". You can use Google as your site search engine - when a visitor searches your site, contextual ads are displayed amongst the results and again a fee is paid when an ad is clicked.

There is also AdSense for mobile content if you have a website directed towards mobile phone users.

Linking Options

Links can be either Ad Units or Link Units. Ad units display the adverts directly. Link Units display a list of links that when you click them, they go through to a list of adverts. Link Units take up less space on your site than Ad Units. Both can be customised to fit in with the colour scheme of your site, and you can prevent adverts for your competitors' sites being displayed if you wish.

Reporting is advanced and comprehensive. You can set up different channels in order to track the success or otherwise of your different websites and campaigns.
